And if this is not sufficiently nature-oriented, I understand. I love old western landscapes with funky old vehicles. This is an old well-drilling truck near our place south of Prineville. I finally stopped the dang car and spent a 1/2 there.

13 mm, f/16, 1/30s + 1/180s HDR in Photomatix
Mid-tone and Shadow Contrast pumped up further in Nik Color Efex

I did some more natural treatments as well, but this seemed to be the favorite with those who have seen it already. Please note: there is some softness from compressing a massive HDR Tiff file.

Different and very cool, I like it Marylynne. You did a nice job with this, congrats!

Marylynne, looks like you took some of the lessons from our PNWNP get together and presentation a few weeks ago...

I really like this, it's almost a color book creation. I think the comp is very good and I really like the treatment. Very cool.

Thanks, Craig and David. I did switch from Dynamic HDR to Photomatix and I seem to have more control. I did a very natural treatment of it (see it here):

...but I had to go and get crazy anyway.

This would make a very fun print. Love the bright color!

Oh, this is really cool! I think it would make a fabulous art print and be pretty darn popular. Great comp, color and expertly done processingfor a very creative effect. I also hope you put this up over in Photo Art forum.

Thanks, Bryan and Catherine. I'm planning to put this in a calendar for some dear friends who had this guy drill their well....uh...way back when.

Catherine: I'll have to check out the Photo Art Forum. I haven't gone there much but maybe that's where more "interpretive" treatments belong?
