Worms for tea !.
I spent an hour or so last evening watching this kestrel hunting, not from the hover but a perch. Unfortunately for me it never came close enough for any thing other that this but at least I could then see what it was feeding on, lob worms. It made about half a dozen flights and each time took off with a worm. This crop is about 20% of the full frame so it’s noisy to say the least. Nice way to spend an evening though.

1D mk 3,600mm,1/000@f/5, ISO800 , car window.

Shame it's noisy, and a tad central.

Look forward to seeing some when he does get closer to you .... :toast:

Nice flight shot all the same Bob. Must be hard work using a 3,600mm lens?

I must admit I would have preferred a photo of the lug worm.   Nice to see nonethless. Good capture.

Well, noisy or not, I'd be very very pleased with that, and you should be too.

Like the composition, Bob, just a pity you've had to crop it so much.

Looks ok to me. I would have left it uncropped myself.
