I've got a Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L Mark II lens (date code is UX0503) for sale including the lens case, hood, both caps, box and warranty cards. The lens hood does have the normal scuffs on it. I'm the original owner. This lens has had a filter on it since day one and the glass is in excellent condition. I'm asking for $1275.00 with a Hoya HD UV filter plus shipping within the CONUS.

I'm also selling an 82mm Hoya HD circular polarizer filter for this lens for $215.00 (or $175 if purchased with the lens). The filter includes its original filter case and retail packaging. The HD filters are made from hardened glass with a waterproof and scratch resistant multi-coating. These filters are also very easy to clean. The polarizer is only 5mm thick (very thin) and has front threads.

If you are interested, please contact me at: photos(at)adamschallau.com.

I've heard this is a superb lens...just curious why you're getting rid of it?

I've purchased a Nikon 14-24mm lens.

The 14-24 really is quite remarkable. Wish I could afford one

Adam, is that a Nikon 14-24 for your Canon via adapter, or is it sitting on a Nikon body too?

And how much better are you liking that Nikon to the Canon? Obviously enough to sell the Canon, but can you quantify whats better about the Nikon?

Darren,
I'm using the 16-9.net Nikon G to Canon EOS adapter.

Obviously both lenses are ultra-wide zooms, and they would both have their place in my bag if I could afford to keep both. The Canon is a great lens and has served me well but I found that when I was using it for landscapes and architecture, I was shooting from a tripod and manually focusing with live-view. The Nikon on a Canon body loses it's ability to auto focus and you have to use stop-down metering, but that works fine for me.

From an image quality point-of-view, the Nikon offers better corner performance, it's more resistant to flare, and it also performs better at f/2.8 to f/4 which is important to me for night-scapes. I will miss the Canon for street work and other hand-held shots. I may pickup a used Canon 17-40/4L at a later date to cover that need.
