You are allowed to install Photoshop on two systems as long as you don't run both at the same time.

Does anyone know if they both need to have the same operating system?

I'm using 64-bit Vista on my desktop, but would probably get Windows 7 on a future laptop.

I don't have any experience with PC, but I'm able to install photoshop on both my Mac Pro and Macbook Pro. Two computers is the limit with the regular license I believe. I don't think it matters what operating system you're using, but as I said I don't have any experience on the PC side.

Thanks guys. Now, just wish me luck on install #2 as install #1 was really, really messy.

You may install on two machines as long as they are the same platform. You may not install across platforms such as one windows and one mac machine.

I have 3 running on both Vista and w7- the limit of number simultaneously activated. Don't forget to deactivate your copy if you are ditching your machine (its under Help). Also I have a number of plug-ins that only run under 32 bit. So on my 64 bit versions,I run the 32 bit version - execute the plug in, save the file and go back to the 64 bit version. the 64 bit executable photoshop.exe is usually under >program files>adobe> whereas the 32 bit version is under >program files (x86)>adobe>

I'm running CS3 on one of my computers and cs4 on the other 2, so I think the limit might be 2 for a particular version.
