Gorman Post Road 4/12/2010
Gorman looked pretty cool after a recent storm. I do not have a wide lens yet so, I mostly tried to capture the layers of hills and color. Does this image work? All critiques and suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

Yes it does Roland. Some might complain the light isn't dramatic enough but I've seen a million photos with out dramatic light. You've got 3 great elements here, possibly wild horses and the combination of wildflowers and snow. All not often seen together.

Wow, this is one sweet image Roland! I love the layers, horses, color and snow all in one shot. I'd say you not only succeeded in this shot, but the lack of WA forced you to b emore creative. Great job.

Most unusual shot. It works. Great image, Roland.

Fantastic collection of elements captured here. I could see a vertical image focusing on the right center section (two horses, trees and bisecting lines) working great too. This definitely works for me as presented. Good stuff!

Based on your generous comments, I will include this shot in my short list of lanscapes to enter in the Kern County fair this year.

I have attached another version of the same scene. Which do you think would have a better chance of winning?

Thank you.

Wow, hard to say in the web sized versions. I am leaning toward the second one only because irt brings the primary elements in closer with this tighter crop.
