Finally !
Hare
Can't compete with you big hare boys but this is my first one after trying for 55 years.
Of course I messed up as I had the camera on timed shutter as I was testing for camera shake on some twigs in the far hedge when this turned up in front of the hide. Every time I pressed the shutter nothing happened for 10 seconds ! I missed aome great stuff 20 feet away. A real Meldrew moment. I realised what I'd done after it cleared off but then two came back later but no where as near.
Lesson 1- leave your camera alone ! He sniffing around after a female in this shot. I suppose at least he's doing something. !
Maybe has a cast as its in the Raven field.
D2300 Sigma 50-500
125th @ f8 500 ISO

No cast here.Pleased for you , really pleased .
After 55 years thats some dedication .Nicely caught mid walk .A touch off the top to loose the leaf clump in the background?
We all gotta start somewhere on any species so dont be too disheartened and luck plays a big role .
I'll bet you smiled when it showed up though .
Whats up next Polecat ?

Congratulations John, the first of many I'm sure now the duck has been broken. This looks spot on, lots of sniffing going on at the moment.

For someone who sees hares on a daily basis it is amazing that with all the time you must have been behind a lens this is your first shot. On the other side of the coin John, I never get to see many of the great bird shot you post, I would trade hares for a few nuthatches or redpolls. Nice shot, good colours.
