Brown Hares on a Misty Morning (Repost)
Here's my take on the local Brown Hares. Taken last weekend, early-ish, just before the sun came up over the trees behind the subject.

Nicely atmospheric John and it's exactly what we see so often in the early morning. I especially like the way that both hares are looking in the same direction. I was going to say that it could have done with a little more grass at the bottom, but the more I look the more I think you got it spot on and it does make it feel as though the viewer is peeking over the rise at them. It makes you feel closer somehow. There is some nice light on the hares which I think might be encouraged a little more in PS.

Love the composition and atmosphere captured here, for pection maybe hares could be nearer and on top of the ridge in the foreground. :wavey: :wavey:

Hi John,

I'd be happy with a shot of just one Hare, so photographing two is just being greedy  slight nits covered.

There's a nice image to be had there, but I personally don't like the current crop. What about this, with slightly more foreground and more of a 'letterbox' style?

As mentioned before John the word atmospheric sums this up nicely. I like the comp as it is, the both hares looking the same way with the tree in the distant background has a nice feel to it and the big sky adds to the sense of space. I think you could improve on the image as presented with a bit of processing work.... a touch more contrast, saturation and a bit more sharpening I feel. Surprised you have only had 5 comments on this as it is a very nice image.

Thank you all for your comments, which in a couple of cases seem to be the result of some very deep thought, which I really appreciate :toast:

The alternative comp is quite intriguing but I think I prefer my original overall. As to processing, it was a juggle between preserving the thin mist and maxxing out the detail. Anyhow, here's a repost which may hit the mark more effectively (I've tweaked the contrast and saturation and added a little USM).
