I have a client who wants a print this size. I have not been able to find a lab online that makes anything close (max is about 40x60). Anyone have experience printing this size? I'm also concerned about the quality of the print this size from a Canon 30D (8.1 mp), though I suspect Genuine Fractals would likely do a good enough job upsizing. Thanks for your help!

Thank you George. I put in a request for an estimate.

I would talk to the lab before uprezzing with genuine fractals. While GF can do a good job, labs have million dollar printers that come with rip software that is priced at thousands of dollars designed to uprez.

Let us know what they say and how the print turns out, I would love to get a print that big!

BTW, what is the subject?

Doug,

El-Co Color Labs in New Jersey has a Canon IPF9100 12 color prints, prints 60" wide. They charge $8 a square foot, my math says that would be $300. Their number is 800-446-3526. I would ask if they could provide an 8x10 approval print before they make the 60x90. I have never used them for the IPF9100 prints but have bought quite a few of their internet poster deals, which they print on a durst Lambda up to 30 x 60 and have been very happy with the product.

Cheers,
Duane

imagecraft outputs on a Lambda, hence the large sizes. They did all the signage for the last two Olympic Games (off of their Lambda). Interestingly, the Lambda outputs at 200 DPI allowing significantly smaller file sizes...
