Giddy-up
In search of Adders today but was happy with this pair of Toads who seemed quite happy to pose. What beautiful weather today to wander round the Peak District. Couldn't ask for anything better.
D300 Sigma 150mm 1/500s f11 -1.0EV ISO 200 Tripod - Lying in middle of road (yes me and the toads).

After photographing them Mr MacD did his first "toad crossing" of the year and transported them to the other side of the road- whether they wanted to go or not. He does this with old ladies as well

Great fun! Lovely sharp eyes. Chap on top seems a little bored... You'd think that with it being such a rare event he'd be more enthusiastic!

Thats what comes of all that dissolute behaviour. His expression says it all.
Very nice capture indeed.

Well caught Maggie :toast:

nice and sharp I would have liked a "tadge" more room on the rhs for her to move into though, it looks a little dark on my monitor.

Great title Maggie LOL

Well composed and very sharp, I'd lighten it just a little too.

As others have mentioned, the image is a little dark and as I'm sure you are aware, this due to the -1ev that you have dialled in. I find that the automatic exposure mode algorithms in the Nikon D300 and D3 are extremely accurate; much better than those incorporated in the Canon cameras that I have. As a consequence, I find myself shooting more and more often in Av exposure mode with the Nikon bodies and that I can pretty much trust the meter and only rarely have to dial in any compensation.

Nice shot Maggie. Without the -1ev the background could have become too pale, it looks ok to me :toast:

Thanks all. I seem to be having a problem since calibrating my monitor. Everything I upload onto the web site looks to dark to people but looks fine on my monitor
