Poppies!
Along rt. 138 in the Antelope Valley. Probably the most famous poppy site in the state. It's our state flower, afterall. Captured 4-13-10.

Looks like you really hit the poppy motherload Jeffrey. The density and huge carpeting is quite impressive indeed. I also like the small clouds on the horizon. Thanks for posting.

Wonderful, Derek! The sky nicely complements the image. I saw
similar scenics on Thursday of this week.

Now that's a carpet of poppies! Like the band of clouds too... good stuff!

Very nice! Easy to find? Close to the preserve?

Yes, Rodney, you drive right by this field on rt. 138, maybe 5-10 miles west of rt. 14. Close to the sign for the preserve, which I've never seen better than the roadside show.

Show it still on daily performances like today. What a "zoo" but I was able to find solitude by driving around on the numerous dirt roads in the area. Liek this image Jefferey no clouds today.

Hey Jeffrey,

Great display, but the line of clouds really make the image for me - otherwise, just another field of poppies...

Yep, what Lon said. I have been out there with dead blue skies several times and some clouds like you have make all the difference.

Nice images up at Earth Day, too!

Amazing display of color and the line of clouds really add a lot. Nicely done.
