How are things looking out there? Things usually start to get going about this time of year....

I was checking flickr this morning and Darren White had one up on his stream from that relative area.

Was there this morning and it was not looking very good - maybe the worst I have seen it. The arrowroot balsam is starting to die and there is very little lupine. Certainy not like last year. The flowers are overall so sparse it is not worth it at this time. The Dalles Mountain Road in general was fairly bad as well.

dang - and you see these amazing photos from the wildflowers in Southern and central California and hope the rains we have received might have helped but I guess it is too late in the season to help them. Bummer. Thanks for unfortunate news, Kevin. Hope all of you are well.

I'll add a dang too. I shouldn't complain, I had a real bonanza in Arizona earlier this month, but I do love it out there this time of year.

They're still a bit stubby out here, and a few cold temps have damaged some of the blooms. I'm finding blooms facing south are better than the reverse, but things are still pretty sparse this year.
