Thought I would try and do something a little different with the Turnstone, it was so still using the reflections were the obvious choice.

Absolutely superb! Great timing, low POV and nice reflection. Complementary colours too.

Great image, maybe just a little too central for my liking, do you have any more room in front of the bird?

I echo Bob's query but think this is really very nice indeed regardless. They are difficult to capture at the best of times but in flight take it to a different level.

Like this a lot... my only wish would be for all the water to be that earthy brown colour, but that is out of your hands... position in the frame is ok for me...

Great catch and different to the normal pose of these birds,I love the trail behind the birds legs, gives the image a sense of movement for me,very sharp too   :wavey:

Hi Calum,

Lovely shot with a great pose and colour palette. Perhaps a tiny bit of cw rotation, hard to tell if its just an illusion though with the sloping brown bank at the top and angle of the ripples towards the bottom of the frame.

Cheers,

Lewis.

Hi Calum, just back, so will be brief

Great capture and well handled under difficult conditions. The pose, reflection and strong comp really makes this image a real cracker, the water droplets add to the icing. Agree with Lewis about a slight 'rotation', and might try to even up the top part of the image.

Think it's your best to date. :toast: :toast: :toast:

What an image to break your duck with :toast:

It looked good on the back of your camera, and even better processed. They fly in so quickly and so low, you did really well to get this.

Personally, I'd give it more room on the LHS for the bird to fly into but as said above, a cracker ! :wavey: :wavey: :wavey:

Thanks for all the comments some good suggestions in there for improving the image which I'm very grateful for. No more canvas on the left unfortunately,,, a canvas extension would be the only answer there.
