*CLAP*CLAP*CLAP*CLAP! "...Deep in the heart of Texas!"
Took a quick trip to Dallas for a concert, and I can't believe how green it is along the way! The flowers along Hwy-287 from Amarillo most of the way to Dallas are unreal. Hate to sound blasphemous, but I wish flowers in the high country of Colorado got as this as they are down here right now. Certainly warrants pulling off the highway a few times on the way back. Yippie Ki-Yay!!!
*disclaimer: Pulled these straight off the G9 into the laptop, had to do a super-sized compression, not on a profiled monitor, blah, blah, blah, so cut slack for technical stuff.

Here's one close-up. Ideally, yeah, I wish I hadn't cut off the righthand petal, but I didn't even notice the hitchhiker until I looked at this on the computer, so it's a wash, right? Right???
Tomorrow night, Porcupine Tree at the House of Blues!!! Woo-hoo!!!
Geez, it's 1am here, I guess the show is today, not tomorrow. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

Wow, I agree with you desire to have blooms like this in CO. Almost looks like summer there.....Enjoy the show!
Back in the 50s when Lyndon was Governer, Lady Bird's pet project was to have wildflowers planted alongside the highways in Texas. You see the results.
Mrs. Ritter, are you paying attention?

Actually I think Sage smells better and takes a much more impressive image

I like the comp in #1 and the color is outrageously good. Flat out gorgeous. And then I saw #2 .Fantastic pov and comp as well as dof. Put that one on the flora gallery! But add a little canvas on the right and clone the bug.
Awesome set. Can't wait to start seeing sites like that around here.

Man I was gonna do the "clap clap clap clap -deep in the heart of Texas!" too
Very nice and yes its all green and bloomin here in the Lone Star State. I heard someone call it a 100 year bloom. Cannot speak to that but it is a nice one. Glad you got to see it.
Excellent stuff, especially the close-up!!!! I used to travel to the Hill Country in April of each year while my daughter lived in the Killeen area. The flowers were the reason for scheduling our visits in April.
