Thanks for the fish!
Thanks to those who offered info, tips, and advice for my poppy trip last weekend. It was great! I spent Friday scouting but couldn't help shooting a little. I put over 300 miles on the rental covering the area from Lancaster to Carrizo Plain. I decided to spend Saturday and Sunday among the poppies in Antelope Valley.
What an amazing display! The desert was on fire. I was surprised how localized the bloom is. Luckily there were plenty of areas to get away from the crowd, plus only a few dedicated souls were up at sunrise or out at sunset. Luckily I didn't see any of Rudy's Mojave Greens, although I was on the lookout.

Here are a few from my first processing run - by way of thanks!

Glad you had a great visit Kalin. I was out there Sunday too, my photographers version of an Aussie walkabout I call Driveabout, which by the miles you put on your rental you did too. Nice images and you must be dedicated to flower power to make such a long pilgrimage.

Kalin, looks like you caught some nice poppies! Great images and nice little detour from Springtime in CO. Now you'll have two Springs if you catch some mile high+ stuff a bit later in the season.

Paul, driveabout, too funny. LOL... I can relate! With California there is a lot to see. Sometimes its just really spread out.

These are really nice, Kalin. I like the shallow DOF on the close-ups. The flowers were amazing out there.
