CS4 install on laptop - why no automatic thumbnails in bridge?

OK - so far it seems to have worked to do a second install of CS4 on a new laptop running a different version of Windows than this machine. I had a little trouble with the camera raw update, but that is sort of working now. Why I say "sort of" is because previews don't appear as thumbnail images in Bridge. When I double click a file, it does get converted and after that, it appears as an image in bridge. Any idea what's going on there?

Could be you need to download a later version of Adobe Camera Raw?
