Red Grouse
1D2n, 600mm f4 is, 1/160s, f8, iso 400

We had a mixture of snow and sunshine early this morning and this chap was posing nicely in some heather recovering from fire.

That's an absolute belter Ian. The background compliments the bird so well and it's 'heads up' pose shows off the eye wattles superbly.

Bird and background are lovely Ian, not quite so keen on burnt heather in foreground.

A species I hope to get one of these days. Great work, and complimentary b/g. Nice one.

The heather foreground being burnt give this image a bit of Grouse enviro difference, that said it is a touch stark .

Good to see that you are getting about a bit...

A classic bird in its environment and shows a different side to Moorland habitat management.. Good stuff.
