I'd like to publicly thank René for everything he has done for RMNP/CNP in his time as co-moderator. You guys put in a lot of work behind the scenes and you should know that we all appreciate your time and efforts.
Rene has decided to jump out of the moderator role and into normal civilian life again. I thank him for all the help he has given to us over the past years. Rene is not leaving us and will be around to help us out (especially with the code behind the fall colors contest). At the same time I am welcoming Jim Casteel who has volunteered (poor fella) for moderator duties.
Thanks so much, Rene for all of your hard work. It showed in a flawless site. Welcome Jim, have you lost your mind? And a big thank you to Richie V. for all you do as well!
Well, THIS is the announcement, I guess. Earlier today when I saw Jim Casteel's name listed next to Rich's as moderator (and René's name absent), I called René to satisfy my curiosity. As it turns out, René stepped out and Jim (bravely? foolishly? ), stepped in.
Because the moderators do a lot of generally thankless work, I figured thanking René for everything he has done for us was the thing to do.
Mystery solved.

Gheez CAZ, you beat me to the post!!!
Well - thank you for the "thank yous" everyone!!! It's been a pleasure working as a moderator. I just thought it was time to give someone else the chance to moderate.
Whoa Jack...we'll talk later
I know Jim and Rich will continue to do a great job.
Thanks for the hard work Rene - thanks for volunteering Jim.

Thank you to all of you thankless volunteers who do what you do behind the scenes. As a newer member, this site is absolutely invaluable in it's content and the caliber of it's participants is simply amazing . Hopefully one day I can give back and help strengthen this community like you all have done. Thanks again!

I'll be around on the forum...
Anyway, thanks to all the moderators (past and present and future)! You guys keep this group of nutcases in place and that's not an easy job.
How'd you sucker Jim??
Jim, one of Rene's duties was to send me free beer each week--hopefully you will continue this tradition
