This isn't exactly a Pac NW photo, but I wanted to share it anyway. My wife and I recently returned from 10 days in Maui. We spent 3 days backpacking in the Haleakala Crater in Haleakala National Park. This was a unique backpacking experience due to the varied terrain. There was everything from lush rain forests to desolate plains of volcanic cinders. We had one clear night and the stars were awesome. There is something to be said about the stars in the middle of the Pacific Ocean on a moonless night!
Nikon D80, 12-24 Dx Nikkor, Photoshop blend of 2 exposures of ~30mins each at f/4.0, ISO 100. The first photo was started during twilight to pick up some of the magenta in the sky. All comments/critiques are appreciated.

Exquisite. I've always loved star trails and this one is one of the better ones, Scott. Awesome.
