I have not used Lightroom before, but have wanted to learn how to use it for various purposes that PS doesn't fulfill as well. I downloaded LR 3 Beta 2, since I can actually use that until June, whereas the trial versions of LR are only good for a month. I also figured I should learn to use the version that will be closest to the new release, and I figure that would be a Beta version of LR3. I hope this makes sense. If you think it's a stupid idea, please feel free to tell me! Anyway, my problem of course is tutorials. I need something free or cheap. Can anyone suggest something that will be the least likely to get me confused between the various versions? I learn best by seeing, then doing a process. But in looking at LR so far, I don't know where to start on my own, and because all the tutorials I see are only for LR 2, I'm not sure how confused this will make me. Any ideas? Thanks!! (btw, I'm reading the most recent DAM book & it's partly from that that I know I should really learn LR, for my whole revamping of my organization, etc.... so it's more for that than editing, that's my first concern. Batch processing would be another, if LR is any better for that than PS)

Julieanne Kost has got some excellent free tutorials on lightroom. I've been to one of her workshops and she is in my opinion very good and dynamic. Take a look at her site http://jkost.com/ and this site is for the lightroom tutorials http://jkost.com/lightroom.html.

Since LR3 is only a beta release, it's not likely to have any actual formal tutorials out until it's actual released for sale. The best bet might be some Lightroom 2 tutorials, along with some of the info on the web for the changes in LR3. (Like those from Adobe TV on Lightroom.)
