Stunning light and composition, very nicely done Guy and probably one of the best shots I've seen of the species. Might have given just a little more room at the bottom for the 'top' of the reflection, but very minor in what is a great image.

Thats a super image of one of the most difficult birds to get right. Lovely light and pose. Excellent image IMHO.

I echo the above comments, this is a superb piece of work Guy. Lighting and composition are both very good.

A great portrait Guy of a stunning bird. You have captured the detail (as expected) extremely well and not blowing the white too, but coupled with the warm light, this really makes this image stunning. Happy with the crop. :toast: :toast: :toast:

Agree a little more on the bottom, but a great image of this species, perhaps a little more of a head turn but that is so minor it is hardly worth mentioning, but I have

The light and detail is superb

Nice to see that you've gone for a complete shot rather than tight in on the neck and head, as per usual mandarin shots. Warm backlight really helps this one. :toast: :toast: :toast:

Beautiful light quite like the contrasting rich whites and blacks, our local ones seem to have evaporated.

I agree with the above comments with regard to more room at the bottom, but that aside it is truly a very nice image indeed. Lpvely rich colours....superb stuff Guy.
