After hearing tornado warnings and gathering my kids for a run to the basement, I remembered the storm season we had last year. Absolutely amazing weather last summer. One specific day comes to mind-the day I missed a brilliant purple sunset from the hail clouds. Earlier that day I was able to grab a couple of shots of the amazing cloud formations. Here's one of a crazy farmer cutting his hay during the storm. My 18mm lens on my crop sensor camera doesn't give you the whole picture in this scene.
BTW- I live north of Greeley, so the majority of my shots are of the plains/farmland.

Looks like a nice storm. Looks like there may be some distortion on your horizion you may want to look into fixing.
I work over on the west side of Greeley and happened to get a picture or two of that tornado that blew through here couple years ago, there always seems to be great storms out here in the flat!
Man that is an insanely cool and somewhat scary sky, Charles. I see the distortion and usually that bothers me but for some reason, in this photo, I think it enhances it. Can't really say why but it's cool.

I'm with Bret on this one, the bend in the horizon seems to encapsulate or contain the elements and really serves to draw the viewer into the scene. It could also be the lay of the land giving this effect.

I love the storm season. Always fun chasing tornado and thunderstorms. Cool shot.

Jim - I was going to mess with the distortion, but I really didn't mind it. The land actually slopes high to low from right to left, but there is a distortion issue. The tractor leans very hard left when you zoom in. If I was thinking clearly I would have taken two rows of three shots to get a nice big stitch going (because of my limited wide angle from my crop sensor)...this would have also helped the distortion. There's actually some CA issues along the horizon, but I don't plan on blowing this up to a large print.
