I have been in two minds whether to post this or not for a while now.
After 3 hours in a bitterly cold ditch, with driving sleet and snow, this hare finally ran across in front of my position - my hands were so cold, and the light so poor, I just missed the shot. Either that, or a snow flake ruined the focus on the eye (I like the sound of that more than missing the shot lol)
I keep coming back to it though, so the question is - wdyt ?
One thing is for sure - I've never been as cold as I was that morning !

It captures the action well, a great sense of movement and bags of atmosphere. I think the point of focus is a little in front of the eye. Given the techs i think you did really well.

Yes, I like it too, Graham. Plenty of action here and a good capture under the circumstances.
I more than like it, I love it. Good images don't always have to be technically perfect but they do have to have impact and this image has impact in spades. I'd hang it on my wall.

Works for me too,it has a very arty to feel to it Graham , almost looks like the hare is desperate to get out of the miserable conditions. All I got that day was very cold
A bit soft on the hare but a great shot anyway. Well captured.

really like the snow and movement here, good composition too, i can't help wishing the eye looked a little darker though but that is a very small and silly point, excellent shot

A good harsh weather image, the composition works for me too.
I can see why you keep coming back to it. At first glance it looks like an OOF hare but the more you look at it coupled with the driving sleet it actually works very well.

I think this is a great images. Love the action, the weather, composition and the surreal water-like ground. Just a lovely atmospheric image. Well done.
Hi Graham, as per the comments above, certainly the setting sets the scene. The colour is good and coveys along with the sleet falling, a very cold and bleak day. Trying to lock on might have been difficult, especially with the sleet falling so perhaps a 'panning shot' at slow speed might have proved better, however it's always after the event. Just wondered if you cropped slightly off the top & a bit more motion blur might help?
Great to see a hare doing what it does best , nice shot.
Bob.

I am glad you did decide to share his, Graham. It has a great feel to it, I think I might have been tempted to take even more off the top than Steve did, but it is a great, atmospheric shot already.
