Hi Karen

Just flicking through here, whilst downloading yesterdays little Owl shots, but guess I am in the minority here, as again, I feel this looks like a crop and not full frame? There is detail, but based on the 'techs' and at FF the image IMHO should be cleaner, sharper & have more detail especially at 1/1600? Hey Ho

I guess that's the difference Karen between, in the field and set-ups, it just takes longer to get the shot, but the shot is worth waiting for. The more you are out & about the better you will become in terms of shooting and improving your photographic skills.

BTW, just be careful with the MKIV, especially when cropping, it might not be as forgiving as the 50D :wavey:

I was up at 5 in the morning to get the owl shots I got thanks to some info from Major,I put many hours in trying for these birds and it was hard work many early mornings I know I am not the best photographer I think we all have lots to learn ,I don t always do set up shots although I see nothing wrong in them they take time and patience to,I have put a lot of hours and walked many miles for some of my shots,as I know many on here do,so I am proud of what I have achieved.I didn t find the 50D forgiving in cropping but thanks for the tip

Really nice Barn owl Karen catch lights are lovely, the barn owls at my work seem to have disapeared. I miss them loads..hope they come back one day.
have fun with the 1D4. cropping power is amazing.
