Hi Tom, love those colours, but it's the sheen that really makes it for me, typifying the reptilian character. The OOF claw doesn't worry me, but may others. For me, I quite like to see a tad more foreground and a little less above, but again, just a personal POV.

Not quite doing anything for me Tom, the colours do not look right at all on my screen.. Overall it looks quite 'cold' in colouration and very contrasty. Shame because, as stated, there is some nice detail there.
Will look again when I get home as I have shot of White-bal cards (black, White and 2 greys) taken just before this and the monitor is fully calibrated. It was early morning. Cheers...
OK, quickly reworked, color checked, slightly different crop. As a check I have compared the color of the stone to another piece I have and it matches.

Hi Tom
Been back to this a few times.
Beautiful skin structure- like blobs of polished marble !
Never seen one with colours on the head like this though.
Cheers
John
Having seen such a beastie up close and personal recently I'd say the second one looks just about right. I like the 'simplified' approach here, it really draws the attention to the 'design' of the animal. Nice.
