Taken yesterday evening after a long wait, the Owl finally showed 10 minutes before the light failed.

Through necessity, the shot was taken into the light and is about a 30% crop.

Hi Graham, looks like your patience has paid off.

The colours work well and away from the norm, however I do feel somehow there is just a tad too much space, even for the BO to fly into. There is, what seems to be good detail, but sadly at this size it's difficult to confirm, however at low light and at 800 I think you have done very well. Might just want to even out the slightly darker mark just behind the body.

I guess I shouldn't have packed my equipment away so hastily or I could have been as lucky as you

Background works well to bring out the owl. looking forward to seeing a print of this one.

Lovely colourful detail in the wings and back and the rim lighting around the head is super.
