Last Sun. night I hung out with Scott Bean & Wayne Rhodus, and we drove around Alma a little bit. Wayne found this spot just east of Alma that was a possible sunset location, so we set up. The sun hadn't made an appearance ALL day, but being photogs - we hoped. It did manage to pop out from under the cloud bank for a few minutes before it sunk below the horizon. Wayne picked the perfect spot - the sun went down in just the right place for some nice images. The sun was a big red ball because of the lingering smoke in the air from area pasture burns.

Beautiful scene, beautiful colors. It almost looks like an ocean between the near hills and the sun.

Nothing like the Flint Hills with new, spring grass. I hope to have a chance to get out there soon as well. I like the location you have with the hills in the foreground and a bigger valley in the background leading to the smokey sun. Nice job.
Nice work Angela, I really enjoyed scouting out some new locations with you two that evening. I like how you used your new lens to good advantage here. I think you two are going to get along just fine.
