Turnstone - (Arenaria interpres)
Recently spent some time with some very accommodating Turnstones, of which most go round bullying each other for what the other has found, therefore I was pleased to get this one on his own. On reflection (sorry) perhaps a bit too central, but...

...easily corrected.

Lovely angle and reflection Steve. I think it could stand a tighter crop personally, shifting off centre, as it looks to have bags of detail.

Cheers

A catch 22 me thinks here .Too high and the bird blends into the BG , too low and the reflection diminishes .A good compromise here .I agree with Austin a slice off the right to lose the red RH stone .Super light and great detail

Lovely colours and detail looks good. Reflection is nice too. It feels somehow a little "bunched up" somehow in the middle. Maybe a lower angle would have separated the bird from the stones?

a lovely image. If it were mine I think I would crop a bit off the right and I'd also be tempted to lose the dark strip at the top of the image. But still very attractive as it is.

Bit off the right and it'll do fine Stevo - they're never this accommodating for me :frown:

There were so many composition options with these very obliging Turnstones, in fact as I remember sometimes they were too obliging and nearly walked over the top of us. I’m pretty sure you have many different compositions from the time we spent there. What I didn’t realise at the time was how the light was working different coloured reflections round the pool depending upon where you were set up. My reflections are all largely a silvery blue, but I think I much prefer this silver olive colour that you have. Bags of detail in there

Hello Stephen.

It works for me as is but its one of those images where we could have several compositions that all would work.

For me bit I like the most is the reflection as the Turnstones head blends in very nicely with the stones, but with the reflection we have a very nice clean view of it..
