Hi all,

The farmers are very active working on the fields close to home at the moment. I noticed one lunchtime that some birds were attracted to these freshly ploughed fields, so the next free evening I went to see if I could record any activity. The smaller birds, Wheatear and Yellow Hammer, stayed very close to the centre of the fields out of reach of the camera. This Thrush was slightly more obliging but this is still a reasonable crop from a 700mm lens combination.

C&C most welcome. 1DMK4, 500mm +1.4x, ISO800, 1/640 f5.6

Cheers

Austin

Lovely habitat/behavioural image Austin, having the grub was spot on. Might crop a tad off the top personally and there looks like a slight hint of magenta overall? Probably just me.

Wondered where you have been as I haven't seen you on the circuit for a while, need to send you some stuff re MKIV too.

Thanks Steve,

I'll wait for other comments on the magenta. The kit was calibrated in the last 2 weeks and had changed slightly.

I have been out with the MK4 a lot recently, reducing computer time which is a good thing ! Also the US forum has been quite unstable for me for a few weeks, so I am letting them fix the problem.

I'd appreciated any MK4 info. Thanks.

Lovely! Don't see these so often nowadays. I also think it is a little on the magenta side - for some reason my camera raw software adds magenta by default and I have to remember to correct it.

Hi Austin, the 'backroom boys' have, I gather fixed certain issues, and yes, it's stable, however there is a date that it will be down, but don't worry. it's in the early hours UK time.

Have sent a PM re MKIV :wavey:
