Adders
came across these old slides yesterday ,taken in the early seventies. I haven't tried to improve the colour etc as they are in a bad state anyway and really worth the effort. They show two male adders in "combat" as some call it. They twine around each other and rear up in the air up to half their length. At one point two of these came between my feet but they are so obsessed they are no threat really at that stage.
Taken with an old compact film camera ! Hence the quality.
Cheers

Excellent behavioural images. Was the compact old at the time, or was it new? Well worth preserving digitally IMO, for posterity.

Super capture and something I have not seen yet, out of the three images I like the top right the most.

This is what happened shortly afterwards.
They lay in this position whilst mating for quite a long time.
