E. Sierra Born of Fire
From Onion Valley Road north to just past Aberdeen the Inyo complex fire (Several fires started by ground strikes) burned off all of the low scrub. Now there are fields of blooming wildflowers without the obscuring vegetation, it is a vista born in fire. It will not last forever. This Sunday I spent the morning taking pictures above old 395 near Black Rock Springs Rd. If I had been there earlier I probably would have bumped into Anish. It was windy, but in the brighter light it was easier to avoid motion blur but of course I lost the subtle palette of dawn.1st image was taken up Sawmill Creek dirt track leading off old 395 just at Black Rock Springs rd. Olympus E-500 ISO 100 f/16 1/250

2nd Image taken a little further north up a nameless two lane dirt track with an open gate along the western side of Old 395.

Thanks sfor the update as well as precise locations, Paul.
Perhaps later next week I can go to the Eastern Sierra.
Your images are very pretty.
