Hi Tom,

It takes some time getting used to a long lens....

This looks like it couild be a nice image, but the light looks to be not at its best for the subject and in this instance I think fill flash would have lifted the image, allowing for detail in the whites and putting a bit of light in the darker plumage. Would really like to see this at a larger size with less compression to make a clearer judgement.

With this dark background, it's crying out for a lovely frost-encrusted twig I feel..........which shouldnt be too difficult in your neck of the woods :smile:

Needs to be posted a touch bigger, but clearly a fine composition.
