Keefe Falls Drainage
I thought I would post something that I was pretty confident no one shot. This was in the Keefe Falls drainage. While everyone else was still shooting the falls, I headed back down the trail and came across this little scene...Getting in to shoot it was a breeze..I just slid down the hill and set up shop. Getting out was a different story. Being that I am vertically challenged, I had a real time finding a way to pull myself out...Thank God for my tripod! I left my trekking pole in the jeep because I thought I wouldn't need it.That was a mistake! I managed to use the tripod to help wedge myself between a rock and the ground and grab a sappling to pull myself up.
Anyway, that all said, this is a four shot stitch...The colors are true to likeness. It was green heaven down there. No need to boost anything!
I plan to go back to Keefe soon and explore more. It is a beautiful place!

You could work around that drainage all day (cloudy day). Lots of framing options. Flowers everywhere. Glad I didn't have to come to your rescue!

Beautiful shot Karla. Last October I took a Thursday off from work to take advantage of the rainfall and finally visit Keefe Falls. Bill Dark pulled in right as I was getting out and he headed up the trail ahead of me... I couldn't ignore that wonderful stream. My first shot was of the same cascade in your photo, though I shot mine more from the side and I don't like it nearly as much as your angle. It's funny how every little stream has its own personality. This one struck me as the perfect example of an mountain stream tumbling among mossy boulders, like I would see in National Geographic when I was growing up.

It was nice meeting you and Mike this weekend and look forward to us all getting together again.

That is one beautiful place, Karla, and you did a nice job conveying the beauty with this image.

I remember the day well, John - I had just finished talking to Ed about his Find-Me-Spot unit before seeing you on the road.

Good job on the stitch. The photo looks great...the greens were so bright while we were there. The whole area down there was awesome. I plan on exploring around more as well.

Good job Karla, I really like the tropical feel to this one.

Nice shot, Karla. I really like your composition and the lush green-ness of this scene. Glad to hear someone besides myself is "vertically challenged"

Thanks everyone for commenting...John, it's funny what you said about the stream. I was the same way. When I was going down the trail, it was all I could do not to stop on the way in. I didn't stay at the falls for long before I headed back out. More than anything, I was afraid the good light would be gone by the time I got back...
Angela, being vertically challenged in these hills can be a real trick! That's why I take my 6'2 husband with me, to help pull me out of these places I get myself into! The trekking pole helps too!
