European Starling
While these birds are are not usually held in high regard by people, they can have some interesting colors. This was photographed at Pouch Cove, Newfoundland a few days ago.

While I am one of those "Not a fan of starlings" people, I am very impressed with your capture Ryan. Really nice detail of the plumage, markings and color. Great head turn and catchlight complimented by the OOF BG. Very nicely done. Since all the pink flamingo's of Newfounland flew south decades ago (never to return) it's nice to see your recording what God has given you to work with. I haven't been to Newfoundland but I am enjoying the landscape and boat images you have been posting.... more, more!

Ryan, I totally agree with Craig. He took every word out of my mouth. I'm so surprised to see the beauty revealed in this bird by your terrific use of the light and perch. Thanks for showing it off.

The feather colors are amazing and I really like the head turn. Well done.

Exactly what you said Ryan. They do cause havoc with the native birds, but they are here to stay and have a real subtle beauty that you can't see without a close-up like this.
