20D Setting Parameters

Am I understanding this correctly, that setting the parameters(sharpness,saturation, etc.) affects the jpg that is embedded when shooting RAW, (I don't use RAW+jpg). Are those same settings applied to the RAW file also?

I beleive that the only thing that effects a RAW file is the colour balance. The colour balance can be changed when you convert, but you start with the balance recorded by the camera. All the other parameters such as sharpness or saturation do not affect the raw file.
