Rook (Corvus frugilegus)
Hello

Been a bit slack on the forum last few months, life gets in the way sometimes....

A Rook portrait taken recently. Liked the pose on this one.

Techs:-

D3 + 300mm 2.8
1/1000 sec @ 6.3 + 0.3 EV ISO 800 handheld Full Frame

no PP other than sharpening

cheers for looking

Colin.

Like it Colin, a very strong comp and you've managed to capture the lovely blue sheen that is so often missed. Only thing I'd like to see different is bit more DOF. Very nice nonetheless.

A very striking image ,love the blue tones as Des suggests is often lost .A slice off the left for me in the comp.

Love this as is. The wiggly wire is inspired, and the lighting is so theatrical I'd have believed you if you'd said you'd used three lights and brollies. Lovely and memorable in its simplicity.

This feels really arty to me, i really like the lighting, colour and wire fence, but i cannot see the eye on my monitor at work or home, which makes it look a little odd to me. i dont know if that can be lifted with a little PP

Cheers

This has something mystic really - the clever raven
good to see the iridescent colors in the plumage
