Hi Mark,
loads of detail in this amazing shot,
the hole looks like hand made by human, so precise

Hi Mark, this is a general comment based on your recent posting, but they all seem to have a 'cast' to them. This one in particular has quite a strong one, looking at the tree. Try in Colour balance - Cyan & + Blue, not ideal, but it does reduce the yellow cast.

Hope this helps. :wavey:

Mark

Have a look at the histogram in "levels"

the RGB channel looks evenly spread but if you look at both the R & G channels the black point is shited quite a fair way to the right and the blue channel is heavily clipped.

Take a colour sample point off the the black in the nest hole which should really be as close to a true black as you can get as its an absence of light, the RGB values are 39,31,13.

go back to teh R&G channels and pull the black point back to 13 each, this will remove most of the colour cast. As the blue channel is so heavily clipped you cannot actually fine tune the image much further.

What colour balance setting are you using - auto? if so is there an issue the blue channel shouldn't be clipping like this

i tend to leave the camera set to 6200K, not auto. although i dont see any cast, the tree is very green / yellow with moss etc,

The whites on the woodpeck look white to me , both at work and home
