I took an unexpected trip to SoCal for a family funeral. And on the way I decided to see if the AV had any poppies left. Well, I discovered they are still blooming like gangbusters!
I thought I may have missed an epic year. But some thought it was actually peaking this week. And the Poppy Reserve itself has one of the best displays right now. This shot was taken just outside the reserve. I haven't even processed the other images yet. Many were saying this is a banner year at the reserve. Monday and Tuesday were great.
So if you haven't made it out there and were thinking about going its not too late! Plus Gorman Post Rd. looks good as well. I'll post more once I process them.

Gorgeous, Derek! Thanks for sharing. I was in that area two weeks ago, and
the wildflowers were tremendous then. If it's not too late, I might consider going
back down next Wednesday.
