I'm working on a submission and the company has requested that I include the caption in the IPTC field of each photo. What the heck is the IPTC field and where is it found?!
Thanks,

Bret,
I Googled IPTC and found what may be your answer. It is located at http://photothumb.com/IPTCExt/. Essentially, it is The International Press Telecommunications Council.
Go to File > File Info in Photoshop, that is the IPTC field (all the important ones anyhow). It stores the info inside jpg, tiff, psd and maybe some other formats. You can also add them in BreezeBrowser, PhotoMechanic, and many other picture browser programs.

I believe it is nothing more than one of the fields in the meta-data of a photo (found in Photoshop "File> File info). You can automate this process in a PS action.
How would one use an action if each caption is different? I have close to 200 photos for this submission and if it is at all possible to speed this up I would certainly be interested.
John Shaw describes how to do an action involving repeated info needed on all images, such as copyright symbol and notification, and name and address on Joe Van Os's website. Specific info will have to be done one by one.

This is the first I have heard of this as well.
It's Probably The Corn field. They're pretty common east of here.
OK, I'll go back to lurking now.
What program do you use for browsing thumbnails?
