Sedge Warbler
Canon 1dIII 500mm +1.4x f7.1 1/1250

Hi all

One from this morning. A very difficult session as the wind tried its best to stop me locking the focus on the warbler, and the warbler itself refusing to climb up a 'clear' reed. Enjoyable though!
I've kept the two reeds cutting through the image on this posting but have a 'cleaned-up' version on my blog - not sure which I prefer

Beautiful detail Simon. Like the composition and complimentary BG. Reeds don't bother me at all. :toast: :wavey:

some lovely detail and bg,I think I would prefer it without the reeds

I think this is a stunner Simon. Detail is spot on, lighting is lovely, pose is great, composition great and the background very complimentary.... what is there not to like? As for the reeds I can live with or without them.

You are turning out some beauties lately Simon. Great background and colours. If this is local, you could try clipping those two dried reeds off and having another go. Most warblers seem to like to use the same perch again once they have settled in an area.

Superb image Simon - very nice bg :wavey:

Reeds should go you'd think, but there's something about their placement that I like - a bit avante garde I know but keep 'em!

I think the bird is gorgeous. If you keep the reeds in I think you need to crop to portrait format as they do make for quite a strong vertical.
