I am finally able to get out a little after about a month of illness sprinkled with a hospital stay, but sorry folks I am back, though twenty pounds leaner with the strength of an eleven year old. Here's a couple images from this morning of the local Wasatch Mountains. The conditions were nice and cloudy with some light snow. Thanks for looking and C&C welcome.
The new spring leaves had kind of a yellow tint to them... I think it's going t be an early fall. I just wanted the earliest fall foliage prediction of all time.
These are fantastic, Jeff! Glad you're back in the fold. Hope you're up to speed soon.
On that first one, I'd lobby for tilting it a bit clockwise. It looks like it has a pretty good lean to it, which might be an optical illusion, but nonetheless would look better with the trees pointing more straight up, imo. I realize by rotating it, the trees on the left periphery will lean inwards, but I think that would be a good look, as it would draw the viewer in more. The two dominant trees in the middle should be straighter. It's also a great candidate for a b&w conversion. It's halfway there already. (Par for the course with me, why say in 10 words what can be said in 100!)
Welcome back, Jeff. Hope your convalescence is short and successful.
#1 is also my favorite. It has nice depth and mood, for sure.
Todd's advice seems pretty good to me there.
Thanks for the comments and kind words. I am getting stronger everyday. I will go back in the files and give that first one a rework and see how it turns out.
Love the first one and agree with Todd about the rotation. Best of luck on your recovery, wow, 20 lbs lost is serious stuff, be patient and your strength and energy will return.
Great shots! I'm with the guys wanting to turn it b/w. I like it color but I think a b/w would be awesome. Not sure on the tilt issue but then again I'm a rookie :)
