May Apple
Thought I might have missed the may apple blooms this year hadn't had time to go check until this morning. Looks like the peak of the blooms were last week. Most I found were withered or had fallen off completely. I checked all the area I know of good numbers and finally found a few that still were holding on and looked good.

I see some wonderful pictures of these, I have always found them difficult to photograph. Low, under big leaves, nodding, messy backgrounds and the wind have always given me a hard time.

I spent an hour or more at this plant much of the time waiting for the breeze to stop. One thing I did that helped (at least in my opinion) I placed a gold reflector on the ground under this to bounce some light back up to it. I have a few more to pick from but just wanted to share this. I cropped the original 2x3 of this to a 4x5 to eliminate some empty area on the left.

Quite lovely, really!

A very difficult flower to get into ones lens!
Love this!

Good job with this one, Brad. I think using the reflector was a good call.

Really excellent Brad. You've maintained so many subtle hues in the flower. One of these days I'm going to try to shoot one of these, and I'll remember to try a reflector when I do. Thanks for sharing.
