Oly NP & N Peninsula images
Spent a few days in the park and around the Strait this past weekend. Thought I would share a few shots with you all. The tide pools at Salt Creek Park were less than inspiring and the bright sun made exposure challenging but I thought I needed to include one. I'm going to post a few images in succession, so I hope it's not too excesssive. If David or Eric see the need to halt my assault on PNWNP I understand. I love sharing photos with like minded people, even the not so good ones; the photos not the people.

I like the lines and textures of this flat rocky area. Also at Salt Creek Park. This may be as close to an abstract as I get.

Here's a small roadside cascade near Lake Crescent.

Elwah River Valley. I wish I could say that I stalked these two Blacktail miles into the high country to catch them browsing, but they calmly watched me as I set up the shot. The longest lens I had with me was the 150 Macro, so I shot the scene with that. Hey, we do what we can.

I posted this shot in the M&N gallery also, but I like it enough I thought I'd include it here. I almost passed this shot up because the light and colors were fading fast and I needed to change lenses, but I went for it anyway. I'm glad I did.

I found this somewhat interesting driftwood configuration on the Dungeness Spit. I like the strong leading lines taking the eye to the porthole in the root ball. I may go back and try to catch this one with a sunset in the bg.

This is facing NE from Hurricane Ridge. I spent all day Saturday in the Sol Duc Valley, a fantastic location BTW. I bracketed a few shots of Sol Duc Falls, as well as up and down stream but I haven't processed them yet. Anyway thanks for looking.

Hi Bruce! Are these your first photos posted here? Glad to see you take the plunge, and welcome.

Looks like you had some great fun on your trip, and grabbed quite a variety. I really like the falls photo, and there is nice depth in the last one.

Thanks John. These may be my first photos posted in the NW forum, although I have posted questions and comments in the past. Yes, my intention was to take a variety of shots as it seemed I was getting stuck on the forest/streams and mossy rocks lately, which is easy to do where we live. I just shot what was avaiable to me and didn't look for any particular type of image.

Bruce, I like the fall photo as well. I also think the rainbow one really is a standout. It feels just a bit too saturated, but otherwise very engaging. Welcome to the forum and I look forward to more posts.
