Lone Sentinel
This wasn't shot during "magic hours" but I was there and couldn't wait for better light so just shot it.

This tree was in a pasture west of Cottonwood Falls. I was in this exact same place just a few weeks ago when the ranchers burned it off. It's amazing how fast it greens up after the burn.

I just posted a larger version on ESS.

Canon Rebel XTI, tripod, polarizer
35-80 mm lens
ISO 100, F16 @ 1/30

Nice subject and comp. How would it look in monochrome?

Good job Angela. Well-composed and nice colors. I think this is a good example of what a skilled photographer can do with less-than-ideal conditions. Thanks for sharing.

I like the bold blue and green colors, Angela, and the clouds are beautiful. All the elements are composed nicely in the frame to make this a really nice image. Well-done!

I like the fact that its not the symmetrical tree that you usually see in shots like this. Definitely proof that the golden hours aren't everything also.
