Word is this model has finished final testing and will be announced sometime within the next 3 weeks to be released in June. I've read from multiple sources that it will have some sort of "new feature" not present in other DSLRs....many people have been guessing it's going to be GPS. Thus far I've read that it will be 18mp (like the 7D) and 6.5 fps (like the 40D.) Anyone know more? Anyone looking forward to it? I love my 40D, but I'm on the verge of upgrading to a 7D...but as I have previously been told here that some models of the 7D are have AF issues. Perhaps the 60D will be a slightly cheaper alternative? I'm curious to see how it tests. :wavey:

Funny, Canon already had a 60D, named the D60 though... ALOT different! :)

Hi Brandon
Interesting thought about the GPS. I too have the 40D and was looking for an upgrade. I bought a 7D and out of a few thousand images taken hardly any of them had no point of focus. Really strange. I heard of a few other photographers that were having this problem and other photographers that absolutely loved it and spot on focus. I think it was a batch problem with the focus issue. I know shoot on a 1D mk4 and have no problems with the focussing!!

I bought the 7D and have no regrets. I was waiting for a 60D but the projected release date came and went so I took the leap to the 7D. I know some have complained about a lack of sharpness but I haven't had any problem. I should note that RAW digital images are a tad unsharp by nature because of the anti aliasing. If you shoot JPG the camera's conversion algorithm should take care of it but I never (well, almost never) shoot JPG anymore and I have my own sharpening work flow that produces the results I'm after. FYI on the kit 18-135mm. It has pincushion issues. If you are upgrading to Photoshop CS5 though it is easily resolved with the new lens correction feature.
