A couple weeks ago I posted a request for info on RMNP and received some excellent info. I'm finally heading in that direction on Thursday morning and will only have a day and a half to shoot as the main purpose of my trip is my son's graduation from UW in Laramie. As posted before, I'm looking for suggestions on potential landscape subjects as well as wildlife. Any info on road and weather conditions would be welcome as well. I appreciate your help.

Hey Larry, I've been traveling and haven't been in the park for a little while but generally the lakes are beginning to open around now creating some great opportunities for reflections at least near the outlet streams, that is when the winds aren't howling. Lots of fresh snow up there too.

Ditto what Erik said. It's really hit or miss this time of year. The winds are howling right now.
Yesterday I noticed open water on both Sprague and Lily lakes. Are you prepared for hiking in snow?

I visited the park last week right after a storm (it was raining in Denver and the Front Range but snowing in the high country) and the place looked a lot more like winter than spring. That said, I'm sure some of that has melted and there might be quite a bit more thawing taking place in the lakes now. As the guys said above, conditions at this time of year are day to day. It might be sunny with no clouds, crazy windy (like today) or snowy. Be prepared for anything.
