I did a little shooting at Colorado National Monument while in GJ over the weekend. The train of squalls across the Uncompahgre Plateau made for very little good light. I've posted one morning image with some fog in the valley over Fruita.
Flowers are just taking off and there are some very nice bunches of rich red paintbrush. It seems that with the cool and wet conditions this may be a pretty awesome flower season in
the desert. I'm sure Bret, J. Brauer and others are seeing the same thing in Utah. Maybe it's time to start a wildflower thread?
Hopefully what we'll see will be comparable to the kind of wildflower year they had in S. Cali, S. Arizona and the Texas Hill Country so far. From checking out this and other forums, the season has looked impressive in those parts. Nice perspective on this image and thanks for the update Dave, I've been planning head to CNM in a couple of weeks.
Didn't see many flowers out there, but to be honest I wasn't looking too hard! I think I may have been too early. And usually deep in the canyons as well.

I also agree it's time for a wildflower thread.
Nice light on those "peaks".
