Welcome Stephen,
Great action pic, I like the open beak and trail of water droplets. Looks like it could be a tad sharper around the head, this may be the size that the picture is reduced to or could be sorted with a touch of usm. Overall good effort.

Hi Stephen
Welcome to the forum. There is a lot that I like about this flight shot. The degree of blurring on the wing tips works well I feel, ideally there would have been separation between the head and rear wing, but the head and eye look acceptably sharp on my monitor. The open bill and the flying water droplets are both nice.
Welcome to the forum and what an interesting and cracking shot to open your account. I like the blurred wings and water droplets and don't mind not having a clean seperation betn. head and wing. My only minor nit would have been to see the head a little sharper - that said I really like the image!
Dramatic and action-packed! An effect enhanced by the frantically-blurred wings, and the flying water droplets. Head looks sharp enough to me. I really like this one, and hope to see more!
I like this shot. A great sense of action and movement. The wing position and wing blur, combined with the water droplets make for a great shot.
Minor nits, the head is not pin-sharp, probably due to handholding and panning at 1/160th, but close enough for a movement type shot. Also I would prefer the bird more to the left so it is flying into space in the frame.
Thanks everyone for your comments, The shot Barrie was at Little Britan, As for the head not being sharp that was the best one out of the panned shots I did that day, I love panning (no tripod) have many close up's of birds in flight but still have yet to get a perfect photo, the end of the day its great fun and I love it
Hello Stephen
