Sad story for this little chap. From this side, he looks fine, but on the other side of his face, he had full blow myxomatosis and was blind.
He approached quite close until he turned and saw me then scarpered.

It is not unusual for them to get over it these days apparently. I've never heard of one getting it on one side but not the other I must admit. When you remember that the kill rate was something like 95% of the entire rabbit population when it was first introduced it becomes obvious that they are not as susceptible as they used to be, thank god.
I am not sure what you have done with this image Graham, but I can see repeating patterns all over it, which rather spoil a nice shot for me. eric
Hi Graham, at 1/4000 I think you might have had a sharper image and at f/4, however I know there were some issues so hope Jackie has sorted them out for you. Comp wise, OK, perhaps a little less mush in the FG. like the light, 'nice image' LOL
Eric - this was taken at a strange venue. A clay pigeon range of all places. There were bits of broken clay everywhere. Maybe that's what you've seen - it also had me thinking. I hope the rabbit hadn't been shot and wounded, but I decided it was myxy.....
Steve - on my gear, it's tack sharp and was taken with the 500 which is calibrated to the body - if this isn't sharp, then I'm at a loss what to do about it.
Hi Graham, the eye looks sharp, but at that size it is difficult to tell. At f/4 the area of cover is not huge. Looking at the back of the camera will not tell you if it's 'tack sharp' as the screen is not that great, it only serves as a guide. Bring the RAW image over on Saturday we can have a look.

A fine bit of work and the light is gorgeous .
There is a V directly in front of bunny which may need patching.
