Good morning everyone! I figured a dreary weather day around here needed a splash of sunshine, so thought I'd post another image from my Hermit Pass trip a couple years ago.

This was shot on the last morning of our 3 day trip, at 12,600', just about a 200 yard scramble off the
Hermit Pass Road. The peak in the background is Rito Alto Peak (13,794'). We had only about 5 minutes of this awesome light, and then it was gone, and mostly overcast the rest of the day. From this same vantage point, we could look NE and see the silhouette of Pikes Peak way in the distance. Man, I can't wait to get back up there again this summer!

Brent, to be honest with you it looks a bit oversaturated on my calibrated monitor (especially the rock pile on the left) if you were going for a realistic look. The picture itself is a great shot and the sky looks cool.

Love the perspective Brent. The orange looks kinda blown out on my monitor as well. I've seen this kind of glow, so I know you're in the ballpark, but I think either film couldn't capture it, or the scanner couldn't get what was on the film.

Thanks for the sunshine on this deary day though. I've been looking forward to the return of summer too.

This shot looks a little warm for the 'ICE MAN'
Nice Job!

Amazing light... amazing colors. A steep mountain and precarious composition makes me feel like those rocks are going to collapse on me.

I'm not sure that this shot is oversaturated like people mentioned. I know from my own experience that the most saturated unbelievable alpenglow seems to happen on those days when it's overcast and the sun beams through a gap in the clouds - almost as if the clouds align all those light beams.

Anyhow... I'm starting to look forward to summer... pics like this don't help!

Thanks everyone! I agree, not the best scan in the world. Color-wise, this matches the film (and the sunrise! ), but the brighter area on the left is a tad hot on he film too. Hmmm... wonder where I could get a good scan of this......

Oh yeah, the color that AM was still being enhanced a little by the wildfires in the area.

Awesome Brent. Makes me want to go hiking. No oversaturation in my calibrated opinion. Those great clouds make the color pop.
