Twin Lakes Ice Out
Yesterday morning headed over to the Twin Lakes area for a sunrise. Got over there and the wind was howling on a lake I wanted to shoot. Thought getting up at 4:30 for the drive over was a waste til I started to look around Twin lakes. Saw the lake starting to open up with a few ice chunks floating around and came up with these compositions.

Nice ! Liked #2 with the ice in the foreground and the reflection.

Bob, these are magnificent. #2 is particularly nice, the way the composition leads your eye toward the lake. Great work!

Nice shots! I like #1 a lot, but wish the blues, both ice and sky, were intensified. The colors overall look a little bit flat, perhaps these aren't sRGB? (never mind that, I checked the file and it is sRGB.)

Todd- Thanks for the comments- I agree with you on the intensity. I toned it down thinking the blues were on the cool side which they were being in the shade. Will try your suggestion and repost.

I'd say it wasn't a wasted trip at all, I really like the depth in #2 and the ice patterns in the very near foreground. I think you could pump up the blues a little more, these are all really nice!.

Thats an awesome foreground, I wouldn't mind seeing a little more sat as mentioned, or maybe a b&w?

#3 is really appealing to me.
Probably because of the prominence of the 'iceberg' and the inclusion of more mountains.
Have you got a favorite?

I think with a small crop from the bottom, #3 is my fav. I like the way the ice is in my face. I'm with Todd about the flat colors. Nice series.
